Soon a series of cycles were being produced as a single cylinder motorcycles. Norton was the first major cycle in Britain at the time. In the 70’s the cycles began to evolve into 500cc to 600 cc engines, from 650cc to 750cc engines and then the 750cc turned into 850cc engine . The 1970’s also saw the great models of cycles called the Dominator, 650, Atlas and the Commando. The last bikes produced were in the 90’s; they had the great bikes of Interpol 2, Classic, Commander, F1, F1 Sport, RC588, RCW588 and the NRS588.

The company has gone through some name changes throughout the 80’s but Norton stuck because the name was so popular. Today the company is owned by many parties, In the 80’s Wankel engines were being put into the cycles and due to low sales during this time production of the Norton bike stopped in 1993. Today, the Norton cycles are considered classics.
